Carp Fishing Bait

Fishing is both big business and a sport enjoyed by millions of people. Fishing started over 40,000 years ago but at that time it was for food rather than sport. The Egyptians were one of the first to use fishing tools to catch fish. The river Nile was an obvious source of fish for them. Fish were caught in all sorts of different ways using our hands or weapons such as spears until more sophisticated ways of fishing were tried. These include nets and traps.
Sport fishing is extremely popular and is generally done using a rod and various baits or hooks following set competition rules that control how the fish should be caught etc. Usually the winner of such a competition is the angler who catches the most weight of fish rather than the amount of fish. A very popular carp fishing competition is the British carp angling championships or BCAS for sort. It attracts anglers from all over the world and on top of the prestige of becoming the best fisherman there is also a prize of £10,000 to the winner.

Carp fishing is increasing in popularity and there are lots of competitions popping up around the world with large amounts of money at stake. To fish for carp you would use fishing carp bait or boilies as they can be called in the UK. The word boilies comes from the fact that the carp bait ingredients are boiled in water. Carp fishing is also very popular in other countries such as France and Spain and there are lots of anglers that go on fishing holidays to these countries. Types of carp include common carp, grass carp and silver carp.

Carp fishing in France is very popular with anglers from the UK due to how close France is to us of course. Popular fishing destinations include Paris, Calais, Limoges and Domaine de la Vallée. There are lots of companies offering organised fishing holidays to France. Popular fishing destinations in the UK include the Cotswold, Devon and Yorkshire. If you are happy to travel further for your fishing there are some fantastic places to go including Thailand, Madeira and Australia.

Fishing bait is something that is used to attract the fish to the equipment being used to catch it i.e. a rod. Fishing baits can range from small insects such as worms or maggots to hand made baits such as boilies.

Fishing tackle is the name given to practically every bit of clothing or equipment used in fishing. This can be anything from fishing nets and rods to reels and clothing items such as waders and boots. Popular brand names include Fox, Nash, Daiwa for carp rods and more, Greys for everything to do with fishing and Dynamite Baits for fishing bait. Leading brands of carp baits include Cotswold baits and Richworth baits.

Commercial fishing is huge business and is done all around the world but China accounts for the most fish caught on a commercial basis. In the UK we are well known for our love of fish and chips!

River Carp Fishing

Kingston, Tennessee. We spent a day at this swim trying to get into some big fish. We did manage to catch a lot but not the big ones we ware after. It was still a good day; I caught a few runs on camera followed by some pictures. I used single vanilla boillie 16mm and 18mm (2 rods on 16 and 2 on 18mm). Enjoy, leave a comment (How can I get the bigger fish to bite, I know they are in there), and subscribe for more.

3 Exciting Bow Fishing Facts

For hunters who normally hunt for birds and deer, bow fishing could be a popular off season option. For this sport the appropriate gear is necessary to spear the fish. This sport is more rampant in the summer months, as anglers would find a shallow area of water to go bow fishing or could go out in smaller crafts out on a lake or down a river. You could also end up winning some prizes if you go out into the ocean for bow fishing. There are many different kinds of bow fishing gear and it all matters on the sort of fish which you have in mind to hunt.

1. Hunters use the same equipment to hunt on land and water
The hunters, who hunt for deer with their bows and arrows in winter, use the same equipment to hunt for fish during the summer months.
This hunting for fish in summer keeps them in good practice for their aim, and gives them the same amount of thrill as the hunt on land does. In fact it is even more difficult and needs more skill to hunt for fish that move with dexterity and speed under water, and puts the hunter’s skills to the test.

2. The carp a popular fish to hunt on lakes
The carp which was regarded as the waste of the lake, is now giving the hunters an extra thrill for their bow fishing skills. As the carp is a larger fish of rivers and lakes, it is a good aiming goal. But obviously to test your aiming skills even more hunting the smaller variety of fish would do this. This should keep you in good practice until winter comes for bigger game hunting. Bow fishing gear for fish in the ocean like sharks, sting ray and other aquatic species is available too. If you are interested there are several fishing expeditions that you could participate in, which would take you out for mid day fishing trips.

3. Bow fishing an ancient way of hunting for food
One of the ancient kind of fishing, bow fishing dates back several centuries to another era, when man had to hunt for his food with bow and arrow. It was a necessity then and not a sport, as it was a way to feed the family with all that was available in their natural habitat. Though this is still a difficult sport, now with the new and modernized equipment, it is much easier than what men used long ago. Today there are different kinds of arrows for different varieties of fish and also spear guns available to make fishing much easier. Whatever the species that you are interested in hunting, there is something for you to make your hunting a more memorable experience.
