Selecting the Right Bait For Fishing in Addition to a Bait Shop For Your Upcoming Angling Outing

Going fishing is a trip that many look forward to. There are a lot of kinds of fishing that you can do, but whichever you choose to do is going to require a trip to fishing bait shops. You should make a trip to a bait shop and take your time in choosing all you are going to need in the way of tackle.

Every town has a bait shop it seems. You won’t have any trouble finding one, especially near fishing lakes and rivers. If you are looking to go shopping for fishing tackle, you aren’t going to have worry about finding just the right place to go. Some bait stores are very large like department stores just for fishing. You may also look online for bait shops. These kinds of shops are a fisherman’s paradise.

The kind of water that you are going to be fishing doesn’t matter when it comes to needing bait. However, the kind of fish you will be fishing for in that water does. Make sure to take the right bait for the kind of fish you want to try and catch. You aren’t going to be able to use some freshwater bait for the big fish you can fish for in the ocean.

Many fishing bait shops offer a lot more than just bait. You can find everything you need to round off your tackle in the way of line, hooks, weights, poles, and nets. These are just a few of things you need on a fishing trip. You can even shop at online fishing bait shops.

Many bait stores offer tips for the best kind of fishing. You can find books about how to make your own lures to making your own stink bait. Fishing well comes with having a bit of experience out on the lake bank or in the john boat. You would do well to take the advice of the fisherman who has been fishing for a lot of years.

You may like to fly fish or maybe you would rather spend a lazy and laid back day kicked back as the lake. Either way, you will need the right bait. You should take with you a multiple selection of bait, from spinners to plastic worms to live bait like night crawlers and crickets. In this way, you at least have a selection if the fish aren’t biting one kind of bait. It is always best to have another kind of bait to try.

If you are a fisherman, then you know the enjoyments you have when are at the lake or river, soaking up nature and fishing. When you make sure that you have all the right tackle with you, then your trip will be much more enjoyable.

HOMEMADE CARP BAITS – Ways To Make Your Dips And Fishing Bait Soaks Irresistible!

Soaking your carp or catfish baits in special liquids to improve your catches can cost quite a bit when you are buying small pots. Another thing is that you can actually make your own bait soaks with equal if not even more effectiveness than readymade ones! So have your eyes opened; save money and catch loads more fish – read on now!

In more recent years, pellets have taken the carp and catfish and barbel fishing worlds by storm. Boilies are still of course the number one choice for big fish around the world however. There are endless creative ways to boost your readymade baits and homemade baits effectiveness. One very simple way is to crush up some of your choice (or mixed choices) of boilies, and soak the boilie crumb in hot water. This particular method ensures the bait recipe you are using equally matches the bait profile you are soaking, although this is not an essential ingredient for success and in fact your dip can be as different as you like from your bait itself.

Simply leave for a day or maybe more and stir the runny mixture so you have in effect boilies in solution. Your then simply soak your baits in this solution to boost their impacts. Its very easy and obvious! This is great for baits straight from the bag or baits that have been dehydrated.

You can use the same method or similar methods for boosting all kinds of pellets, and meat and fish baits and even fake baits for example. You have no need to even think about being afraid of over-loading with any solvent based flavours and anyway using this method is very likely to reap bigger more wary fish.

Of course you can boost your special baits dips and soaks in endless ways so that they are more bioactive, or even so they preserve your baits. There are ways to drop or raise the pH of the solutions, make them very much more palatable in terms of vitamin and mineral and amino acid contents etc; its all up to you. In the height of the warmer temperatures when carp and catfish metabolism is peaking you can obviously go for a higher oil approach; this supplying the higher energy requirements fish have at this time in particular among others.

I’d always add a very high-grade high PC liquid lecithin anyway to improve bait digestion and general bait performance in regards to oils in baits, whether bulk oils or essential oils. (Visit Carpfishingpellets for liquid lecithin plus added extras like high-grade pure liquid salmon protein, and triple-filtered Scottish salmon oil for instance, and pure betaine HCL; such things really are very effective individually or used together!)

Making homemade liquids to boost baits is a massive subject and I could write a book about it. You can use the same liquids to boost your ground baits, particles, slop mixes, pop-ups, boilies, stick mixes and almost anything. You can very seriously boost your baits with substances that trigger feeding or with substances that attract fish into your swim very highly effectively. You can use naturally-derived extracts extremely rich in natural feeding triggers to turn fish onto feeding, or even use very easily dispersed flavours to boost very open texture un-boiled baits, to seed you swims and spots, that wash out fast but leave a sediment of paste on the bottom for warier fish to home in on.

If you want an idea for just one unusual bait soak you might try an idea just off the top of my head – maybe combine CC Moore Kelp Complex with their awesome Liquid Salmon and Krill extract and perhaps tailor this and customise this in any additional way you wish – maybe boost it using Belachan, or Cyprivit and Feedstim XP powder, or hydrolysed poultry protein etc.

Liquid recipes can be as unusual and alternative as you like – as potent and as concentrated as you like; I aim to keep an open mind when experimenting and I always seem to be finding new substances not in popular use at all in carp or catfish fishing to use in my bait soaks. As a quick tip try some of the more esoterically orientated health food and alternative herbal type websites for instance. (See below for more on this stuff!)

The range of additives, ingredients, extracts and pure substances, both natural and artificially created can all have their place in your bait dips and soaks for very powerful reasons and your fish will certainly thank you by getting hooked more often! Its Alive ? Amazing Carp and Catfish Active Enzyme Baits and Flavours

The awesome ‘fish-pulling power’ of fishing baits that are ‘active’ is truly amazing!

This is a fact that many ‘secret squirrel’ type fishing bait makers and designers will not tell you too much about! But I will – I’m good like that!

I’m a professionally trained horticultural grower and you may wonder what the heck a plant science background has to do with making and enhancing very top performing fishing baits!

OK let’s see: for example, catfish and carp stimulatory betaine, fish essential and non- essential amino acids, fish essential omega oils, essential oils, active enzymes. Countless fish stimulatory and volatile compounds and components.

From lecithins, fats, carbohydrates and protein ingredients, grits and corn to soya, wheatgerm and important effects of these. To fish stimulatory carotenoids, as in the famous ‘Robin Red’ bait ingredient, alkaloids; phenols in flavours, spices, herbs, biofavonoids in fruit oils. Their fish essential and attractant vitamins and minerals etc, etc!

This said – how many of the most powerfully effective drugs effective in animals in the world are plant derived? The latest relevant headline I saw in the paper was “Chilli peppers kill cancer tumours!” It’s interesting that these peppers seriously stimulate the ‘long range’ carp ‘motile’ and protein feeding response…

In fact most of the best fishing flavours have a lot in common with a very famous headache cure and heart attack preventative. This all proves that certain plant ‘active’ and ‘volatile’ ingredients and components are exceptional for putting more fish in your net, when used in baits – as we shall see!

But the practical question is: “Are your homemade fishing baits and readymades ‘dead or alive’ and just how many fish are YOU missing out on as a direct result??!

Many readymades and homemade baits are pretty much innately ‘dead’ when it comes to stimulating fish effectively!

It’s just like the marketing old trick used in carton packaged or canned orange or pineapple juice implying that it’s really great for you and ‘just like the fresh juice!’

What is faulty about this idea is it is simply not true, because the fresh juice is ‘literally alive’ with very highly beneficial active enzymes, which the stored juice has ‘lost’ in being preserved.

You will really notice the difference on your tongue when you eat a fresh pineapple or orange. I’d always add pineapple juice if I wanted to include a synthetic ‘pineapple’ flavour in a carp bait, that’s for sure!

The same effect is felt when eating spices, such as in curry powder, nutmeg, turmeric, cinnamon, chillies and black peppers, even many herbs like celery, garlic, onion, and familiar red and blue fruits like cranberry, blueberry, raspberry and strawberry and so on. Strangely familiar carp attractors and stimulators too!

When you eat a blueberry or strawberry, what is it that stimulates you to eat another one – it can’t contain much nutrition can it; it’s not packed with protein?! Maybe there’s some ‘active’ components and effects at work on your brain!

Perhaps you can leverage such a principle to catch more fish – or even just to get a ‘take’ when times are hard and in ‘unfavourable’ temperatures and air pressure conditions.

The components doing the ‘tingling sensations’ on your tongue are natural ‘volatile components’ and active enzymes, oils components, antioxidants, and powerful acids etc. For example, the multi-use food digesting enzyme ‘bromelain’ is found in pineapple, while ‘bio-active flavonoids’ are especially found in the citrus fruits such as lemon, orange, lime etc. Many winter baits are steeped in ‘bioactive’ ingredients flavours and additives with good reason!

Making Beginner Carp Fishing Boilies – Cheap Ingredients And Flavours!

If you are one of the thousands of carp anglers who are turning to making their own homemade baits or are considering it in order to be able to go fishing without unaffordable bait costs, you are in luck! Here is a very revealing article to seriously set you on your way to big fish with massive savings for years to come!

Traditionally carp anglers have used boilies as a way to defeat the attentions of smaller fish because these baits do not in general get whittles away or pulled off the hook or rig very easily unlike paste baits. Boilies can be made for very many functions to suit fishing situations and methods of fishing, from soft and soluble heavy ones to very hard and buoyant ones that can be fished in critically-balanced ways, or mid water or on the surface and so on.

Boiled baits are a more resilient progression of what used to be called specials or carp baits that were pretty much a more customised version of bread or wheat flour paste or dough type baits. Modern carp fishing boilies are often not very different in terms of recipes and ingredients from baits made even as far back as the Sixties.

The advent of the huge upsurge in the promotion and production of soluble fish proteins and their increased availability around the early Seventies and onwards has certainly had a big impact in terms of the success of many carp baits and pellets too for example. The newer generation of predigested fish meal containing boilies and products like marine or halibut pellets containing high levels of these products plus high quality oils and other factors has meant such baits have made quite an impression on catches of carp and catfish and other species too.

Going back in time a few decades, using trout pellet boilies and paste were often almost the normal thing to use on many carp waters in various versions and were certainly very successful, so these things are far from new today. We could begin with a high carbohydrate bait based on ground cereals and flavours but as one of the big advantages of protein baits is their natural nutritional attraction compared to most carbohydrate baits a description of how to make a pellet powder ingredients bait follows:

It is very easy for a beginner to make a homemade bait from ground trout pellet or ground marine halibut pellet powder far more appropriately, using proprietary ground carp pellet powder! Carp pellets are far more ethical as these are actually designed to suit carp dietary essential requirements specifically as opposed to pellets meant for other fish groups such as the salmonids (trout, salmon etc) with different energy and other aspects of essential requirements.

Note; just because a bait catches fish does not mean it is harmless and will not lead to fish damage and diseases in the long run. Fatty liver diseases in carp due to over use of high oil pellets and boilies is a blight on UK big fish angling and I cannot bear to land big carp even over forty pounds with ruddy great livers protruding out of the side of their abdomens where the diet of baits supplied by anglers themselves is leading to these often fatal conditions!

Think about high oil pellets like MacDonalds or crisps and chocolates eaten by many obese people. You can see the fat outside, and sure you see many fat bellied carp that often barely fight when hooked, but imagine how much fat is around the organs and in the tissues of fish fed unhealthy baits 24 hours a day every day week in week out for years; it is not good and leads to completely unnecessary fish fatalities!

I have also found that use of carp pellet type baits out-fish baits based on the vast majority of salmonids pellets in cool water temperatures too. This is very much due to the low oil content of carp pellets. The bulk oils in halibut pellets for instance certainly mess up the digestion rate of carp when temperatures drop and I am still amazed when you see the high oil trout and salmon and halibut pellets being offered or in use in winter; I guess it just shows some angler do not want to catch so many fish!

If you visit carpfishingpellets on the web you will find a whole range of specialist carp pellets and koi feeds for all kinds of stages of growth and different times of year and containing various different formulations and ingredients and additives to suit every fishing situation. You can order these in whole form or in ground form and I consider these products some of the most instant carp catchers for lazy carp bait makers imaginable! They contain the essential nutritional stimulation and attraction needed for reliable short and long-term baits and can be boosted or adapted in multitudes of ways to enhance bait performance.

This past winter I used a winter formulation of koi pellet as an experiment. To this I added binders in the form of very cheap maize and wheat flours just to enable baits to rolled but this is not totally necessary as often pellets contain enough cereal binders that they roll into baits anyway especially when eggs and a little hemp oil for instance is added to smooth the baits in this process.

I named this range of my experimental boilie recipes Borg Cubes from an episode of an old Star Trek episode – I never did get why it was such a cult but the name of this craft made me laugh! With these carp pellets based homemade baits I made the great percentage by rolling prepared dough out and just cutting it with a bread knife into cubes (which takes just a few minutes for kilograms of baits!)

I made my free baits square. My hook baits were made into uneven rectangles (which wobble in the mouth.) Used using these baits in practice carp obviously find these a real challenge when attempting to eject such baits. This is in great contrast to uniformly round, dumbbell or more rounded cylinder or pellet shaped baits. In fact such baits are a big thing of mine!

Bait secrets may seem to all be known right? But this is simply not the case! For instance I am mad keen about making new connections between disparate aspects of life and between all kinds of things that at first sight may first appear completely irrelevant to each other. My own inspiration for making cube baits was not simply to be different and achieve a competitive edge by simply this.

The secret is to solve answers to challenges carp behaviours present us with. In this case it is obvious from my own experiences and first hand observations of carp behaviours that they have evolved incredible skill at avoiding and ejecting hook baits even when fairly well hooked but most of all in spitting out rounded baits most of all. This is because they have had years to develop these skills and most of the big old wary carp which we dream of catching are too many individual degrees masters or masters in the making in these skills. The fact is that irregular angular baits create totally different pressures that carp find much harder to deal with than with more uniformly rounded baits.
